May 2024 - Update II

Hey Framer enthusiasts!

I'm excited to share some fantastic updates and fixes that I've been working on for blak/ui the last few weeks.

What's New

  1. Revamped Documentation: I've completely overhauled the getting started documentation to help you dive into blak/ui with ease. The first example will guide you step-by-step for a seamless start.

  2. New Components: I’ve added four new components to streamline your work:

    • Carousel: A straightforward carousel built right in Framer, perfect for showcasing multiple items or images.

    • Combobox: This hybrid design and code component serves as an autocomplete input and command palette with a list of suggestions, making it ideal for displaying large sets of information.

    • List Item: Designed in Framer, this single point item lets you create lists quickly and efficiently.

    • Toast: The new toast component allows you to trigger notifications from any design element and integrates effortlessly with all your Framer creations.

New Examples

Check out the latest landing page example to see how we you can use blak/ui. It's a great way to get inspired and see how you can use them in your projects.

I can't wait for you to try out these updates and see how they enhance your design process. Dive in and let me know what you think!

May 2024

Beta v0.1 now available.

Hi, I'm Dylan, and I've been working on the blak/ui project for a few weeks. I'm excited to officially announce that blak/ui is now generally available. To get started, head to the docs.

Background

I started this project to help me work faster in my other Framer projects. I often found myself creating the same primitive web components repeatedly. To overcome this bottleneck, I started blak/ui. The initial launch includes 21 free components, all designed in Framer.

Future updates

Working towards v1, I'm working on more complex code components and examples of how to use these components to build more complex UIs in Framer. If you find this project useful, feel free to follow me on X for more updates.
